Reason Klopp Playing Coutinho Only 45 Minutes

Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho only played for 45 minutes when his side faced Leicester City in the Premier League table on Tuesday (19/09/2017) or Wednesday morning GMT. Manager Juergen Klopp said it was part of his plan to restore Coutinho’s fitness.

Klopp does not seem too serious about this fight. Evidently, he only lowered three players who became a starter subscription, one of which Coutinho, who just started his match this season with Liverpool last week.

The existence of Coutinho is very important considering Liverpool only leaves a player attacking a minimal amount of minutes to play, such as Danny Ings, Lazar Markovic and Ben Woodburn. Especially in the field, Klopp chose to play the new players Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Dominic Solanke.

That is, the presence of players from Brazil during the game could be very meaningful for Liverpool. But the former Borussia Dortmund coach has other plans.

After the break, when the score is still a 0-0 draw, the 50-year-old manager was replacing Coutinho with Woodburn. Klopp reasoned that 25-year-old Brazilian players still need a rest to restore fitness.

“It was his plan before the game.He needed time to play but not for the second half.He was not allowed to play for 90 minutes, or 60 or 70 or 80 or whatever. It was clear that 45 minutes was the limit.we need to make it fit but not force it. only, “Klopp told Liverpool’s official website.

The German manager admitted that the minute Coutinho played during the last two games was already planned from before.

“Yes of course, 80 minutes so late on the weekend, then today,” Klopp said.

Liverpool ended the game with a 0-2 defeat, which put them out of the way. Despite dominating the game, their goal was broken by Shinji Okazaki action in the 65th minute and Islam Slimani on 13 minutes later.

This weekend, Liverpool will be back visited Leicester headquarters. Meeting on Saturday (23/9) later in the Premier League event.
